Fezz Equinox DAC - excellent review

DAC's, yes Digital to Analogue Converters,, they all do the same thing right... well in theory,, many do just that,, but what about the emotional experience or panache in presentation? Well sadly for some they find out the hard way that some reviews are limited to features and specifications and something else so

perhaps it is a good time to visit one of our dealers to listen to a few of the latest DAC's on offer. One DAC we simply love that sits in the space of "affordable high end" is the FEZZ Equinox and FEZZ Equinox Prestige ( for those that like a balanced output )

Hey,, if you think you need I2S, then this DAC is it is not for you and no, there is no AES-EBU sure,, when did i last use this connection type anyway,, this is why,, with DAC'S there is always a connectivity check list if you are persisting with the existing source. Once we decide on how we will hook up then after this,, we get down to the sound, the nitty gritty of the details etc,, which is where we tune in so if this non DSD DAC ticks your box on spec and in reading of the reviews,,, have a listen,, it truly is lovely.

I recently had a discussion with an Innuos owner who needed some assistance on his old machine and SPDIFF came up as a requirement and i am like "what, wait, you know theres a better way right",, well he likes his old DAC and the new streamer he's ordering will have the SPDIF output module so as always, there are many ways to enjoy the music,, so long as you do just that.

There are many DAC's that tick many boxes,, then theres the ones that tickle your ears. The Equinox tickles and tantalises more, so in this case we can say it is performance over hype in spades.
