FEZZ LUNA MINI - the surprising new little amp that could and did.

I was sceptical despite assurances that the new Luna Mini would have enough juice on tap to satisfy power hungry Australian customers with traditionally larger rooms. FEZZ knew this and knew my experience with another brand featuring similar power output and specifications left me somewhat disappointed so a priviate session was created for me in Vienna and they hooked up the Luna Mini , no warm up as the Titania MK2 series was the hero of the show. I auditioned this small footprint amplifier with the fabulous Pylon Jade Ten stand mount speakers which i knew very well.

The capability was evident very quickly, but what took me by surprise was how sweet and how lovely the music was and it was my choice so it was not some random track, I knew well . What I did not expect was pure silence from the wee machine when it was supposed to be silence, it was dead quiet, none of the wrong annoying noise one often hears in an amplifier in this price segment and this is an all new, low price segment for FEZZ. Gamechganger, perhaps but we say this about pretty much all FEZZ products so now it is up to others to draw that conclusion. I just remeber a smile and being told,, see, I told you, awesome right? Yes it is was my simple reply with a smile.

So we ordered them and they will be here soon as they are now ready to ship, such is the demand for the little treasures that we had to go into the long list of back orders and take what was going to be available.

We also know the price is a limited time only as we have seen the price projections for the range coming, more on that in October.

The Luna Mini to arrive will all be in BLACK or as they call it, BLACK ICE and while I mention a small footprint it is not so wide but is no lightweight.

What is The Fezz Luna Mini.

A well refined single-ended, Class-A integrated tube amplifier, created for those who seek the purest expression of music or as we like to put it, for those that can hear the difference.

Who is FEZZ.

The FEZZ company is a proud Polish family run business and an offshoot of Toroidy.pl – a large firm that makes and sells toroidal transformers throughout Europe not only for their own needs but also for the industry especially those that operate in the high end arena.

A known trait is that with Fezz amplifiers, both the power supply and the output transformers on all their tube amps are toroidal. In this regard their products are unique and there is a no compromise attitude to honouring the pedigree of high quality that Toroidy is well revered for.

A totally new feature amongst the new generation of FEZZ integrated amplifier is a small card slot port on the rear panel, designed to accomodate the new FEBS (FEZZ Extension Board System) which can be easily unscrewed, removed and the Extension Board of choice installed. There are now 7 potential inputs, 5 are available now and the other two are due in a couple of months.

The Fezz input expansion cards (available now) include a Bluetooth , a TOS/COAX DAC, an MM phono stage plus the RCA and XLR Modules.

The two new boards coming are the HDMI and the USB DAC modules each available for $499 including GST.

Suitable speakers: Try it out with anything you like, higher sensitivity speakers will be easier to drive so please take that into consideration.
