Conventional headphones exhibit a phenomenon known as internal sound
localization. This is when sound is internalized by directing it straight into the ear canal.
Crosszone's audio engineers resolve this problem with a purely acoustic method to create the world's only external sound localization stereo headphone that has a natural resonance outside of the ear.

CZ-1 i s Crosszone's flagship model that features a natural and comfortable
listening experience by incorporating materials of utmost quality to recreate rich and smooth sounds.
The natural sound field, natural sound quality and enhanced comfort of the CZ-1 is exceptional for enjoying both classical and jaz music. Since its release, the model has received great reviews from music enthusiasts. Many listeners have also shown anticipation for a second generation that is smaller, lightweight and affordable.
In response to this demand, Crosszone released the second model, CZ-10 that
inherits the three main features (natural sound field, natural sound quality and
comfort ), while making the model smaller, lighter and portable in design.
In addition, al three drivers (high frequency, low frequency and crossfeed) have
beryllium coated diaphragm plates and a brass ring encased on the driver frame that ensures product durability and eliminates unnecessary oscillation. Sounds are well balanced from the lowest to highest frequencies, providing a superior sound performance and dynamic tuning best for enjoying pop and rock music. The latest CZ-8A model continues to advance ART (Acoustic Resonance Technology) and utilizes wave-front control technology to further enhance the sound field.

New Enhanced Version
New Wavefront Control Technology
The CZ- 8A continues to optimize ART and focuses on
wave front control that minimizes the influence of
differing ear shape to sound, further enhancing the
external sound localization effect. The sounds emitted
from speakers spread out as spherical wave fronts at
first and gradually become planar as it gets closer to
the listener. These plane wave fronts allow us to
determine the direction and distance of sound.
However, with headphones, the sound source is very
close and reaches the ear in the form of spherical wave
fronts. In the CZ-8A, a wave front control guide is
devised using the principle of acoustic lens, which
delays the sounds and adjusts the wave front reaching
the ear. The external sound localization presents an
even more natural sound field and sound image.

Aluminum Cover Minimizing External
Noise & Improves Reproduction of
Smallest Sound Signals
The CZ-1 and CZ-10 has an Acoustic Delay Chamber
(ADC) that delays opposite channel sounds, designed
on the outer cover of the headphone. CZ-8A places
the ADC within the cover, wrapped with aluminum.
The shielding effect of this cover reduces the effect of
electromagnetic noise on the drivers and allows for a
clear and detailed playback of sounds.

Comfortably Fitting 3D Ear Pad
CZ-8A ear pads are 3D designed with different
thickness front and back. Coupled with the curvature
on the baffle close to the ear, the ear pads fit
comfortably to the head without discomfort, leading
also to a stable reproduction of low-frequency sounds.

Actualization of External Sound Location in Headphones
Conventional headphones exhibit the phenomenon of
“internal sound localization” in which the sound field and sound
image generated by the drivers on both left and right ears are
formed within the head. Many music sources are created by
adjusting the arrangement of voices, musical instruments and
sound field on the assumption that they will be played through
2-channel stereo speakers. However, conventional headphones
that are localized internally have not been able to correctly
reproduce the intentions of the creator in the music source.
Crosszone resolved this phenomenon with an acoustic means
and without relying on digital signal processing. This forward
staging and natural reproduction of sound image, sound field
and music source allows for an immersive listening experience.
Using Acoustic Resonance Technology (ART) to Achieve
External Sound Localization
When playing music with stereo speakers in a room setting,
sounds are heard from three major routes. The right ear, for
example listens to â‘ sounds coming direct from the right channel
speaker, â‘¡ sounds from the left channel speaker to the right ear,
and â‘¢ sounds reflected off the wall. Crosszone headphones
reproduce these sound routes inside the housing. It is equipped
with two driver units (HF/LF) for playing the main sound source of
â‘ and another dedicated driver unit for playing the sound source
of the opposite channel â‘¡. The gap between routes â‘ and â‘¡
generates a slight delay, followed by reflected sounds â‘¢ that also
arrives with a time lag. This is controlled using a unique Acoustic
Delay Chamber (ADC) Technology. Additionally, sounds from each
route arrive with changes in factors other than the time axis, such
as frequency characteristics. ART controls each comprehensively
and is achieved with purely acoustic method instead of digital
signal processing. Combined, this realizes a natural sound field
regardless of the music source.

Beryllium Coating on all 3 Driver units.
The diaphragm plates of the main drivers (HF 23mm/
LF 35mm) and the Cross Feed driver (35mm) for the
opposite channel are all beryllium coated. Brass rings
on the driver frame can ensure product durability and
eliminate unnecessary vibration.
With original ART technology, this
can effectively playback sounds
from low to high frequency.

Compact Placement of the 3 Driver Units
All 3 drivers are efficiently placed within the housing,
with the high frequency driver placed slightly forward,
reflecting a 3 dimensional design. The golden pipe on
the exterior is designed as a part of the Acoustic Delay
Chamber (ADC) that generates a delay of the opposite
channel sounds, and is symbolic of the unique
technology.
